While the Cathedral Church of St. Luke and St. Paul is not itself a large or wealthy congregation, its parishioners have pledged $700,000 toward the $1,400,00 cost of rehabilitation. Under the patronage of Archbishop and Lord George Carey, Mayor Joseph Riley, and Maestro Joseph Flummerfelt, the Cathedral is now seeking support from the wider church and community.
If every Anglican household in the Diocese of South Carolina and every occasional visitor to the Cathedral were to contribute at least $100, not only would the Cathedra''s structural rehabilitation be accomplished, but a full restoration would be possible and would enable our newly elected Bishop Mark Lawrence to be "seated" in style.
